Two game suspension for beating his fiancee and dragging her out of an elevator.............pretty steep punishment for the offense No? :emo-coffee:

Smoke marijuana = gone for 3 games

Beat your wife = gone for 2 games

My favorite part is that it was his girlfriend and then they got married so she could not testify against him.  About what I expected as a punishment.

Pathetic.  NFL should be embarrassed on this one.

On another note... I actually stayed in the casino where this happened (Revel in Atlantic City)... highly recommend

Not a drug advocate or liberal by any sense of the imagination, but I am leaning to legalization of weed. It is no worse than alcohol.

Funny that when your beaten and dragged by your hair, by a Millionaire, the woman is quick to make the situation go away.

Even if she has to marry him

Cash Cow party of one. I usually don't advocate violence but if he beats her in the future, I sure won't race to her defense.

Not even a requirement for him to get counseling or go through an anger management class?  This is ridiculous!

Why should he. The victim was ok with it and even married him after. Maybe she enjoyed it.

I think the two of them deserve each other. I want to punch her, and I don't even know her.

The sad thing is that the fans will have a short memory if Ray Rice returns to the field and plays well.  Bernard Pierce has a 2 game audition for the starting RB job.

Sad but true.......he runs for 1000 yards and helps his team win all will be forgotten.

If he paints his face and creates a pre-game dance he'll be an inspirational figure

My dear friend (who introduced me not only to fantasy football but also PA via WTHH) started a group called Boycott NFL Sponsors and has already written letters to some of the sponsors and the NFL regarding his anger of the suspension and how little of one Ray Rice got.
Will it do anything? Most likely not but it's worth a shot.

Boycott NFL Sponsors

Also makes you wonder, Daryl Washington is suspended this season for violating the NFL's drug policy. He has not yet been suspended for his domestic violence issues (to the best of my knowledge), so if he gets more then 2 games can he appeal based on Ray Rice's suspension?

I am not agreeing with it, but i think the NFL's philosophy is two fold, 1) items for which people are arrested are to be punished by the law, and the nfl then only adds a little to it, in this case, since he did all the counseling and was not convicted, that probably factored in. 2) poor conduct that only effects the individual are treated more leniently than conduct that effects the game itself.  Gambling and drugs effect the integrity of the game while dwi and violence only effects the player .therefore, items that effect the game are punished more harshly.

The Ray Rice decision helped nudge me to make the decision of giving up the NFL. I refuse to give any $ towards their product. I will still follow my Giants through the newspaper and online, but I will no longer be watching games, or going to them. I won't watch the NFL network or buy anything to do with the brand.

I won't go this far but my love for football is definitely fading.  My interest in MLB is at an all time high and Ive been slowly working my way in to the English Premier League.  I can't put my finger on it but it doesn't seem to be as fun to watch as it used to.  Even before I re-launched this time suck website
