So.. as the commish I made a change to switch our long running league (10 teams) into a 2QB league.  Prior to this we were pretty standard with lineup (QB, 2RB, 2WR, W/R, TE, DST, K).

The league is a .5 PPR with 4pts for passing TDs.

I will be drafting in the 9 slot.  My thought process is to go either WR/QB or RB/QB with the hope that either Rogers or Luck is there after the turn.

Is that a possibility?

Or do I go RB/WR (or vice versa), then wait till the 5th/6th round to grab 1-2 QBs then?

Looking for overall ideas on strategies for drafting in a 2QB league.

Thanks.

This is where value based drafting is most useful.

Rodgers and Luck will be gone by 1.07.

You'll have to go qb 1st....then at the turn grab a top flight rb/wr. And pray that Delton or Flacco makes it back to you in Rd 3

I'd be looking at QB/RB/QB in the first 3 rounds.  I can't stress to importance of 2 quality starting QBs in a 2 QB league.

I agree with the comments above about the importance of getting two quality QBs, but since you are in a 10 team league at the #9 slot, you can wait on a QB2 until the 4th round and depending on how the draft actually plays out, you may be able to grab a decent QB in the 5th.  You may be surprised at how long QBs will last, it all depends on how the other owners react.

Case in point: Last year in our long running 12 team 2 QB league I snagged Luck at 24 (4th QB overall) and Wilson at 49 (14th QB overall).

Another strategy is to do the exact opposite - load up on 3 QBs in the 1st 4-5 rounds and make the others come to you, begging for a trade.

Grab a QB early then go BPA. You can't wait to long on qbs, they will dry up early.

Thank you all for your opinions.  It will be interesting to see how it goes since it is the league's first time (league has been going for 14 years).

Terrible advice on drafting a 3rd qb early. You handicap your team so much and no one every over spends for a qb early in the season. By the time you finally trade one your usually out of the playoff hunt.

Don't knock it til you try it, it's not my recommended course of action but he was looking for ideas and strategies - this is one of many.

Of course if you are a terrible trader then don't do this.

I've tried it. I've also sat with a 3rd qb that no one would trade for. Drafting a bench player in the first 5 rounds makes for a long season.

How about a 4th QB that no one would trade for, or drafting a bench player in the 6th round?
